Jonathan Stewart: Rico Dowdle is a Top 5 RB in the NFL

After a slow start to the season, trying to find his rhythm behind Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle has emerged as one of the best running backs in the NFL and one of the best stories in the league overall. At the end of Week 9 of the season, Dowdle ranks third in the league in rushing, and that’s all come in the last five weeks or so. Rico is the best example of a player taking advantage of an opportunity after a player gets injured, and he hasn’t looked back. Once Chuba returned from injury, Dave Canales tried to give Chuba the benefit of the doubt before realizing that the best option for his running game.
For more insight into the matter, the Mac & Bone Show brought on former Panther RB Jonathan Stewart, who once shared the backfield with DeAngelo Williams, for a firsthand perspective on the RB situation, as Stewart offered high praise for Rico and what has led to his emergence, he tells you why he isn’t worried about Chuba, after a sluggish return, and tells you why he entered the season as a believer in this year’s team.
