Steve Smith Sr Recaps The Panthers Stout Defensive Showing
For the first time since early in the 2021 season, the Carolina Panthers find themselves above .500 after defeating the Jets 13-6. Legendary Panthers WR Steve Smith Sr joined Kyle Bailey as he gave his biggest takeaways from the Panthers win in East Rutherford.
The defense had a big showing on the road against the Jets, as Steve pointed to this being in large part to the moves that GM Dan Morgan made in the offseason to help make Coach Evero’s job easier, and Steve singled out Derrick Brown and Jaycee Horn for their career games on defense for being a factor, and showing that the organization was right to pay both men in the last few years. Steve noted that the defense isn’t perfect, but he sees how even the young guys on the edge and at linebacker have been growing into their roles over the last few weeks.
Steve would go on to discuss if he thinks the timeshare plan at RB will continue, and what he thinks the plan will be for Carolina if Andy Dalton starts against the Bills.
