Ashley Westwood Has Championship Aspirations for Charlotte FC

This upcoming weekend, Charlotte FC will look to set the MLS record for consecutive wins in the shootout era, after tying the mark at nine over the weekend, with a dominant 3-0 win over Inter Miami and superstar Lionel Messi. The historic winning streak has vaulted Charlotte FC back into contention in the Eastern Conference, where they were once in first place at the Easter holiday earlier this year, before a streak of 10 losses in 12 matches had them on the outside looking in back during the summer transfer window. With the regular season winding down, The Crown are poised to make their first legitimate postseason run in franchise history, in large part, due to the leadership of manager Dean Smith, and captain, Ashley Westwood.
