Steve Smith Sr Reacts To The Panthers Struggles In Houston
Saturday saw the continuation of the preseason for the Carolina Panthers as they fell to the Houston Texans 20-3 on the road. Legendary Panthers WR turned NFL Network Analyst Steve Smith Sr. joined Kyle Bailey to give his biggest takeaways from the loss.
Steve started by discussing his shock at how the Panthers performed. As he told Kyle, even in the preseason, weaknesses would show up, and he wouldn’t be surprised if some of the problems seen on Saturday reappeared in the regular season, but it shows up more with vanilla play-calling along with trying to get good looks at guys in the back-half of the roster. Steve did also mentioned that the Panthers were not going up against a bunch of JAGS, as we should not underestimate what this Texans defense could do this year.
The discussion with Steve also touched on how the Panthers looked in joint practice, and the reported interest in Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson.
