Monday was the first padded practice of 2025 training camp, with Dave Canales challenging his team to set the tone for the physical nature he wants his team to play with come Sundays this fall. Once the pads go on, the intensity goes to another level, and that was evident by a fight that broke out between Chuba Hubbard and Trevin Wallace, who is tasked to be ready for an increased role and production, following the release of Josey Jewell last week.

The praise for the wide receiver room is the early theme of camp, and has carried over into the first week of pads, ahead of Saturday’s Fan Fest event at Bank of America Stadium, and next week’s joint practice session with the Cleveland Browns. With fans not allowed to attend practice, even WFNZ hosts are reliant upon updates from the beat writers and reporters, and luckily, the Mac & Bone were lucky to have some of the best in the business stop by, and offer up training camp updates as they happened.

Back on Monday, the guys were joined by Jim Szoke, as Jim recapped the first week of Panthers training camp, he talks about the impressions that the young pass rushers have made, how difficult it’s going to be for the WR room to be finalized, and what to expect once padded practices begin.

On Tuesday, Darin Gantt from Panthers.com joined the program to recap the first padded practice of training camp, he talks about the scuffle between Chuba Hubbard & Trevin Wallace, he talks about the hype building around the revamped WR room, and why they are poised to be better defensively.

And lastly, earlier today, Joey Ellis from Queen City News and Carolina Sports Live stopped by to talk about the start of Panthers training camp, what he makes of the competition at WR, if it’s okay to talk about the team making a run at the postseason, and more.
