Pro Tennis Returns to Spectrum Center

Professional tennis is set to return to Uptown Charlotte this December with the second annual Charlotte Invitational.
The event, organized by the Charlotte Sports Foundation, will take place Dec. 4 at Spectrum Center and features a marquee lineup: Venus Williams will face Madison Keys, while Frances Tiafoe will take on Taylor Fritz.
Keys and Tiafoe also competed in last year’s event, which drew more than 16,000 fans and featured appearances by top athletes, including Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton and legend Steve Smith.
“Last year validated that Charlotte is a tennis city, and we’re thrilled to build on that momentum with the return of this unparalleled event,” CSF CEO Will Pitts said in a statement.
According to the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, the 2023 Invitational generated $4.4 million in economic impact—evidence of Charlotte’s growing appetite for elite tennis.
