Bill Bender Talks Local College Football Coaching Rankings

It’s the off-season for college football, which means many different lists are being put together to hype up the upcoming season. One of those annual lists is a ranking of the best coaches in the sport, and that list became more intriguing once UNC hired Bill Belichick last December. Last week, Bill Bender of the Sporting News put out his annual list, and it got a lot of people fired up, in large part because of where he had Belichick ranked, and because of where he ranked NC State’s Dave Doeren and South Carolina’s Shane Beamer.

Earlier today, Bender joined the Mac & Bone Show, as he explains why he ranked Bill Belichick as high as he did in his annual ranking of college football coaches, he explains why he’s more down on Shane Beamer as compared to others, and why it’s time for Dave Doeren to break through at NC State.
