"Sean Ryan (Panthers Quarterback Coach) even was asked about rebuilding Sam Darnold as if he was Anakin at the end of Episode 3, soon-to-be Darth Vader."

Panthers fans found out early this morning that they will open at home against the New York Jets in Week One, pitting newly-acquired QB Sam Darnold against his former team to begin the season. The season highlights include Cam Newton's return to Charlotte in Week Nine when the Patriots come to town, and also a second straight season pitted against former Panthers coach Ron Rivera and the Washington Football Team in Week 11.

The Carolina Panthers took a franchise record 11 players in last weekend's NFL Draft. Among those were two players with unconventional stories added to the roster as the newest rookies in the league. Out of the 259 picks, one player who wasn't expecting to hear his name called was Thomas Fletcher.

We’re closing in on the 2021 NFL Draft here on Dueling Mocks with Nick Wilson and Will Palaszczuk. This week, we’re focusing solely on the Carolina Panthers with a seven-round full team mock draft.

8. Carolina Panthers Will: Rashawn Slater, OL, Northwestern: With all of the consensus top four quarterbacks off the board, Carolina goes its next biggest need, a franchise-changing offensive lineman. Slater brings in the flexibility that Scott Fitterer & Matt Rhule seem to crave in their first offseason working together, and finally gives the Panthers some stability with their biggest question mark entering the offseason. While this pick could very well be Mac Jones, I’m a believer in Joe Person of The Athletic’s latest report which states the Panthers’ lack of infatuation with the QB talent beyond Lawrence & Wilson. Nick: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State: This may be wishful thinking but unless a trade up happens ahead of Carolina, I think there is a decent chance Trey Lance, Justin Fields or both are there at 8. BEST POSSIBLE SCENARIO. The over analysis on Justin Fields around the NFL has reached embarrassing levels. He checks every physical box you want and has some Cam Newton to his game.

Today on the Mac Attack, Mac and T-Bone discuss Matt Rhule not mentioning Teddy Bridgewater’s name once yet this offseason. When Rhule has done interviews during the Senior Bowl this week, he has dodged every question when it comes to Teddy Bridgewater. Matt Rhule has been clamoring for QB’s in this Draft, especially Mac Jones […]

To start Wednesday's edition of the Clubhouse, Kyle and Stan recapped day 1 of the Senior Bowl practices which the Panthers coaching staff is apart of. Some of the scuttlebutt down in Mobile is that Alabama QB Mac Jones struggled while former Wake Forest QB Jamie Newman had a stellar day. Despite not playing at all last year where he was planning to spend his final year at Georgia Kyle Bailey thinks that Jamie Newman can show the Panthers coaching staff that he could be the best-kept secret in this year's crop of QB's in the Draft. Kyle even went as far as to say that if Jamie Newman had as good of a year that was expected of him with the Dawgs he could have seen the native from Graham, NC go in the top 10 of this year's draft. Stan agreed with most of what Kyle said about Newman because the reports were that he was going to have the starting QB job at Georgia before he opted-out due to COVID concerns, and Stan said that some of his sources told him that he expects to have knockout interviews with all teams during the draft process over the next few months.
