Brett Jensen from WBT News joins Jeff Rickard on Charlotte Sports Today to discuss the North Carolina sports betting bill that just passed in the Senate and the House. Governor Cooper already said he will pass the bill when it lands on his desk so we can definitely expect sports betting to be legal in […]

After five seasons, Ron Sanchez officially stepped down as the head basketball coach at Charlotte. Sanchez resigned so that he could return to Tony Bennett's bench at Virginia. Sanchez was 72-78 during his tenure with the program but failed to make the NCAA Tournament. This news broke during the Wes & Walker Show on WFNZ, and it allowed two guys that care about Charlotte basketball to give their thoughts.

Come this Thursday, we'll be two weeks away from the 2023 NBA Draft, and the debate about what the Hornets should do at #2 is only heating up. Scoot Henderson has limited his workouts to just two teams, the Hornets and Blazers, showing a level of confidence in himself that you almost have to admire. Meanwhile, Brandon Miller is going to work out for at least 12 teams, as his landing spot isn't as known, given his off-the-court issues, and that's something that even Charlotte themselves have to be aware of.

We're officially less than three weeks away from the 2023 NBA Draft, and the debate between Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller is heating up. Charlotte has to decide if it's best to draft another point guard to pair with LaMelo Ball in the backcourt, or to draft the ideal wing in today's NBA, as they try to put last season behind them and try to make it back to the NBA postseason.

The NBA Finals get underway tonight, as the Nuggets will host the Heat in Game 1 of the Finals. Both teams have been built differently, as Denver has drafted and developed their stars in Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Meanwhile, while Miami did draft Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, they've acquired Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry in free agency. Either way, both have built a consistent winners and will be a force in the NBA for the foreseeable future.

The Charlotte Hornets are just 23 days away from selecting what could be another franchise player to pair with former No. 3 overall pick LaMelo Ball. At least we think so. On Wednesday morning, Field of 68 college basketball analyst Terrence Oglesby stopped by with the Mac & Bone Show for a little bit of NBA Draft talk. While the guys were excited about his idea of taking Scoot Henderson with the second overall pick, they were a little shocked by what he said he would do with LaMelo Ball in that circumstance.

The NBA Finals are set as the Heat will now take on the Nuggets after beating the Celtics in the ECF. A significant factor behind the Heat’s success has been former Hornet Caleb Martin, who scored 26 points in the deciding game 7 win over the Celtics. Caleb Martin’s performance throughout the playoffs has had […]

When the NBA Finals tip-off this Thursday night in Denver, it will also mark the NBA Draft being three weeks away, as teams around the league will continue to fill out their draft boards, with the #1 pick already an afterthought. The Charlotte Hornets own the#2 pick, and that's is really where the draft starts, especially with the Blazers, who currently own the #3 pick, open to trading for a veteran piece to pair with Damian Lillard.
