Cleveland Cavaliers v Charlotte Hornets

The still-shorthanded Charlotte Hornets could not give the Cleveland Cavaliers the same scare they could in their most recent matchup, as they fell in the second game of a split back-to-back on Tuesday, 120-104, at Spectrum Center.

Two nights after leading for the majority of the contest, ultimately to fall in defeat, Charlotte didn’t bring the same dominance to the floor in the second meeting. Cleveland led by double-digits from the 4:09 mark of the second quarter onward. This all comes despite the Cavaliers sitting leading scorer Donovan Mitchell due to a sprained finger. The three-headed monster of Evan Mobley (26 points), Caris Levert (22 points) & Darius Garland (19 points) picked up the slack, along with 24 points from Cedi Osman off the bench.

Kelly Oubre returned to the lineup after missing Sunday’s first game against Cleveland, and led all Hornets with 28 points, his fourth straight 20-point performance. Terry Rozier added 22 points and 9 assists.

Turnovers were a problem for a second straight affair, as the Hornets turned the ball over 22 times leading to 35 Cavaliers points the other way. Cleveland scored 29 points off of 19 Charlotte turnovers on Sunday night.

The loss sent the Hornets to their third straight loss, all coming on the current homestand. The Hornets play their fourth game of a five consecutive at The Hived on Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. Coverage begins with Hornets Pregame at 6 PM on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ.
