The Head Coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks Football team joined The Kyle Bailey Show on Friday as he discussed how eventful the last few weeks have been for the program from recruiting to staff changes.
The conversation with Shane started with how the Gamecocks are really doing strong in recruiting as he noted a lot of great things but he thinks players see that this is not a job for him as he is having a lot of fun and he hopes people see it as a place where you can accomplish everything while having fun.
The latest big-name recruit the Gamecocks got was 5-Star Athlete Nyckoles Harbor as he said getting a great kid like Nyckoles was huge from a perception standpoint as they won a massive battle when every big name school was going after and his announcement was in front of a national audience as well. Shane noted to Kyle that as soon as Nyckoles signed with South Carolina he got multiple texts from 2024 recruiting targets their excitement about the news.
The Gamecocks will be under a new offense in 2023 as Dowell Loggains is now the OC as Shane was attracted to him coming in because he has a pro-style background, but he has experience from his time at Arkansas with a spread offense. The process for what the offense will look like will play out throughout the spring to see what best fits the personnel of the offense.
Things ended with the news of Texas and Oklahoma officially joining the SEC in 2024 as Shane said he is glad we now have an official date to when both programs will join the conference and it just makes things both tougher and more fun in the conference.
