Former Panthers legendary WR turned NFL Network Analyst Steve Smith joined Kyle Bailey on Monday’s show to recap the Panthers 30-24 loss to the Buccaneers, and what happens once the season ends next week.

Steve started by recapping the loss for the Panthers to the Bucs Steve noted some of the key factors that played into the Bucs 2nd half surge as he noted how the Bucs defense really got a beat on what the Panthers offense was doing in the 2nd half and that coincided with the Bucs offense waking up in the 2nd half.

Mike Evans had the best game of the year so Kyle asked how no Jaycee Horn impacted the game as Steve said you could tell the Panthers secondary took a big drop-off without the former first-round pick on the field which Steve pointed out that Carolina needs to improve in some areas including the depth.

Sam Darnold was the next topic as Steve reminded us evaluating the QB position is on a week-by-week basis and Steve thinks that over the last month Sam Darnold is capable of making good plays with the talent surrounding him for the most part.

When it comes to what the future may hold for Steve Wilks Smitty said that Coach Wilks needs and must maintain some position on this team as he said Coach Wilks is a guy who will be your friend and not your buddy as he will tell you what you need to hear because he cares and will do it in a measured tone in the midst of controlled chaos.
