The playoff hopes of Charlotte FC took another hit Saturday night after a 2-0 loss to Toronto FC. Charlotte is currently 4 points out of a playoff spot in the MLS Eastern Conference standings but also trails five other teams in the race for the post-season.

Charlotte FC dominated the possession for most of the match but simply could not put the ball into the back of the net. After the match, a disappointed Charlotte manager Chrisitan Lattanzio lamented the lost opportunity saying, “It’s frustrating. I have nothing to say to be critical of our boys. I think they played really well”.

Although Charlotte conceded the match, there were several bright spots including the debut of recently acquired Adilson Malanda. The 20-year-old defender will occupy an international roster slot on the Club’s 2022 roster.

Charlotte FC travels to TQL Stadium in Cincinnati this Saturday at 7:30 where Jessica Charman and Will Palaszczuk will have the call for you right here on 92.7 Sports Radio WFNZ.
