Charlotte FC has drawn a road match with the New York Red Bulls in the Round of 16 in the 2022 US Open Cup.
CLTFC’s first road visit against Red Bulls was originally ticketed for the final weekend of the season on Decision Day, but the US Open Cup tie will precede that on either May 24th or 25th.
Because of a stadium conflict, New York Red Bulls will host the match at Montclair State University’s home stadium, MSU Soccer Park, the home of the Red Bulls’ reserve team.
The winner of the Round of 16 match will host the quarterfinals against the winner of NYCFC & New England Revolution. Charlotte FC has yet to play NYCFC, and has split their home-and-home season series with New England.
Charlotte FC earned their spot in the Round of 16 with wins over USL League One sides Greenville (2-1 AET) and Richmond (5-1).
