The Former player and Head Coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels joined Kyle Bailey during Thursday’s edition of the Clubhouse as he reacted to a coaching firing in the ACC, and the roller coaster year the Tar Heels are going through.

Things started with Matt reacting to Chris Mack being fired as Head Coach of the Louisville Cardinals as Matt said that he thinks there were mistakes on both sides across the board and while Xavier is a good college basketball school, it is another beast at Louisville and he thinks that Chris Mack may have fallen into those challenges, and he finds it very intriguing that the Cardinals are not having to pay the full buy out price for Coach Mack.

Matt then focused on the current situation for the Heels as he is not impressed with the team right now even after winning 2 straight as he said they struggled in both of those games, and they came against bad teams. One of the main issues that Doherty has with the Heels is the guard play of RJ Davis and Caleb Love as they are not high-level guards, and they don’t have feel which you can not teach. Matt did point out that he still likes what Hubert Davis is doing in his first year, he just thinks he doesn’t have the talent right now that he needs.

Matt ended by telling Kyle:

“They are not a talented team. They are not committed on the defensive end and right now North Carolina is probably not an NCAA Tournament team.”
