Primetime with the Packman
|
“Primetime with The Packman”, Charlotte’s #1 rated sports talk
show, is now the South’s premier sports outlet! Since it’s debut in October of ’97, "Primetime" has grown to be a juggernaut in the radio industry. Based in Charlotte (WFNZ, 610-AM/1660-AM), the show is now available in syndication from 3p-7p (ET).
Hosted daily by Mark Packer (a.k.a. The Packman), “Primetime with The Packman” has gained a national reputation for compelling topics and incredible guests. Jim Nantz of CBS Sports calls it “the best sports talk show in the country”. Daily co-hosts have ranged from Pat Croce, Mike Krzyzewski, and Ric Flair to other regulars in the world of sports, media, and entertainment.
Between the interviews and topics, the cast of characters, and such entertainment features as “The Diamonds Direct Whiner Line”, it is easy to see that there is no show quite like “Primetime with The Packman”.

PACKMAN PANTHERS
By Michael Lombardi

If you are ever driving in the Carolina’s I strongly recommend you listen to WFNZ’s Packman show. Mark Packer the host does an incredible job with his show and the PACKMAN show is unlike many sports radio programs in the country. He is always well prepared and ready to take on the hardest subject in a very professional manner. It’s always fun to do his show, even though some in the Panther’s front office complain. I promoted the Panthers for being improved yesterday--thus shocking Pack.
Here is why I like the Panthers to be improved and compete for the NFC South:
Reason 1: Jake Delhomme
Jake Delhomme seems to have recovered from the Tommy John surgery. According to Panthers star wide receiver Steve Smith, Delhomme’s arm is stronger then before, “Yeah, I think so. I can tell he worked out real good; you can see the difference in his body. I'm going to say he looks better."It seems like he has a stronger arm; he's not showing any signs of weakness with that major surgery." Now, Delhomme is never to be confused with John Elway, but he has leadership and he has the confidence of his teammates-- and that goes a very long way towards winning.
Reason 2: Jon Stewart
With out Deshaun Foster the Panthers no longer are they rely on a back that won’t run inside and needs to have every run blocked perfectly. With Jon Stewart, they get a 235 pound bowling ball, with great hands and someone who can fit into the offense on all downs. By the fourth quarter, teams won’t want to tackle him. He will make an impact on the team and his presences will allow DeAngelo Williams to make more big plays.
Reason 3: Better Locker Room
The Panthers had some un-happy players that brought the team down last year and this year they have cleaned out the room and put the focus back on playing and performance. They worked very hard to improve their offensive and defensive lines and how they perform up front will determine their ultimate success.

Cub wins vs. San Francisco Giants losses?
The baseball season has finally arrived, and already there is an argument on Primetime with the Packman. The Cubs are expecting a big year and The Hitman believes his guys will win the world series. On the other hand, Packman is ready to get onto some Southern Fried Football because he believes his beloved San Francisco Giants will be the worst team in baseball.
So the bet is on...Which team will produce a higher number this season? You can follow along on our Primetime Standings.

Hittin' it up with the Hitman 6/4/08 All great streaks must come to an end and THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL, the Cubs, suffered their first loss in 10 days last night. God awoke last night and stopped the juggernaut for one day. Not worried. Ted Lilly finally pitched like a number 2 starter, throwing 7 innings of 2 run baseball. After winning 9 of their last 10 games vs. the pathetic National League west, they get to face the Bums of Los Angeles. The Dodgers are coming off losing 2 of 3 to the god awful Rockies. This should be easy....>>more...
