Playoff Push:

  • The Hornets sit just three games out of the final spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs as the team looks to make the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons.
  • Coming off his first career All-Star appearance, Hornets guard Kemba Walker has been playing his best basketball since the break. His 27.3 points per game are 5th most in the Eastern Conference since the All-Star break and his 4.0 three-point field goals per game are the best in the NBA over that time.
  • Hornets center Cody Zeller has returned to the starting lineup for Charlotte for the playoff push, and with Charlotte’s preferred starting unit of Walker, Batum, Kidd-Gilchrist, Williams and Zeller the Hornets hold and 18-12 record.
  • Charlotte is at its best when its backcourt is performing at a high level. In the team’s last two games, Nicolas Batum and Kemba Walker have both tallied 20 or more points each.  When the two guards go for 20 or more points in the same game, Charlotte is now 8-1 on the season.
