Cold weather got you in a sports funk?  It’s hard to imagine enjoying a run when its freezing outside.  I literally feel like I have ice in my veins when I step outside for a jog. Luckily in Charlotte there some really cool indoor sports recreation venues to get you through the winter blues.

Kinetic Heights

Play Bigger, Reach Higher, Live Bolder is the motto for this new indoor obstacle course meets American Ninja Warrior.  The brain child of two fathers that enjoyed outdoor YMCA courses with their daughters, Kinetic Heights is an indoor facility challenging the adventurers in all of us. Come as an individual for open play, as a group for team building, or just get your K Class fitness on. The facility offers zip lining, ropes course, and a salmon ladder made popular by Oliver Queen.   Kinetic Heights 5664 International Charlotte, NC.

Inner Peaks Climbing

This state of the art indoor wall climbing facility will physically and mentally challenge you. Inner Peaks caters to the rock climber in everyone.  They have trainers that can work with any level of experience and they offer two convenient locations in Charlotte.  They offer membership passes and day access passes that can be customized to your schedule.  Inner Peaks Climbing has a Crown Point and South End location.

Victory Lanes Indoor Go Karting

This is not your momma’s go-karting.  Victory Lanes is an indoor race track, and as Ricky Bobby says, “You Can Go Fast”.  This 74,000 sq ft facility will have you feeling the need for speed.  You get the full race experience including the racing jumpsuit.  Driving on this 1/3 of a mile race track you can top out at speeds of 45 mph. The venue is perfect for corporate parties or an outing with friends, but there’s never any rain delays.  Victory Lanes Indoor Center 2330 Tipton Dr. Ste 100 Charlotte, NC.

Sportslink Volleyball

Sportslink is the largest adult sports league in Charlotte.  This organization runs flag football, kickball, and softball leagues all year long, but if you’re looking for something a little warmer check out their Volleyball league.  Sand Volleyball is available March through November and Indoor Volleyball is September through March.  You can sign up with a team or individually(you’ll be placed on a team).  The league will match you up based on your skill level. Play competitively play recreationally just get your butt moving  during the winter months. Sportslink 2131 Ayrsley Town Blve Ste 200 Charlotte, NC.

Spectrum Center

If you’re one of those people that gets their cardio from watching others  hustle up and down the court I ain’t mad at ya.  The Charlotte Hornets have a packed schedule and tickets available.  My mom’s favorite sport is basketball, because it’s indoors.  The month of December the Hornets will host The Los Angeles Lakers, The Bulls, The Heat, and Reigning NBA Champs The Cavaliers. Click here to purchase your tickets.  It’s actually possible to shed a pound or two walking from your car into Spectrum, grabbing a healthy concession option, and climbing the stairs to your seats.  That’s entertaining aerobics to me.  Enter the Swarm and support Kemba Walker, Nic Batum, and your Charlotte Hornets. Spectrum Center 333 E. Trade St.

Which one of these activities is more your speed?  Who wants to join me at Kinetic Heights, I’m always up for group activities?
